Steelhead Hall Wedding
The thought of an indoor church wedding used to terrify me. My ideal wedding ceremony was always outdoors with a gorgeous mountain back drop, maybe a field of wild flowers... Until I met Sherry and Jamie. Their ceremony was held in such a gorgeous little church and my mind was completely changed. From the pews to the stained glass windows it was a room full of love. Sherry was walked down the ailse by her son becuase her father was able to preform the wedding ceremony. It was a whole family affair with Jaimie's sons standing up by his side as his groomsmen to Sherry's daughter as her maid of honour also sang a beautiful song.
After the ceremony we went over to heritage park to get some photos done and we were shocked to see the field packed with people. There were busses full of people and cars all over the field. I guess we missed the memo on the big pilgramage happening that day. We decided to stay and found a spot over looking the river with the mountains behind which was the perfect backdrop.
Once we were all done the photos we headed over to steelhead hall which is the cutest little hall tucked in the woods in mission. They had lawn games set up for their guests and everyone was having a wonderful afternoon. As much as people say they hate speeches at a wedding I love them. After dinner there were a few speeches. Whether I am a guest at a wedding or working at one its my favourite part. Its a moment to get to know the couple further. When you are in a room full of people who love you and are there to support your new journey in life the best stories unfurl.
I am personally touched by every wedding I am blessed to attend and can't wait to see more weddings in the future. If you have your wedding in a church, a backyard, a ballroom, a barn just know that I as your photographer am loving every moment of it.
